Weekly Themes
Basecamp Weekly Theme Summaries

Eco-Challenge: June 1st - June 5th
Get ready for an impactful week of adventure! Your child will be an environmental superstar, competing to leave the least impact with fun challenges like the daily "Waste Production Challenge" (no gross trash pile-ups here!). They can earn bonus points by biking or walking to camp, showing us their sustainable style!
Every activity, from biking to climbing and even arts and crafts, will feature discussions on Leave No Trace (LNT) principles—we might even crown an LNT Master! We'll explore durable surfaces on our bikes, learn ethical climbing, and get creative with upcycling projects like making beeswax wraps and recycled paper. It's a week of outdoor skills, teamwork, and becoming awesome stewards of the environment!

Adventure Rewind: June 8th - June 12th
Get ready for an absolutely adventurous week where history meets the great outdoors! Your camper will blast back in time, discovering how awesome skills like biking, climbing, and cooking have transformed. They'll become super cool junior historians, digging into everything from the wild invention of the bicycle and the gnarly evolution of climbing gear to the ancient, magical art of using natural pigments and weaving. But wait, there's more! They'll be leveling up their vital survival and outdoor leadership skills, all wrapped up in seriously fun, historically-themed activities like awesome pioneer-style exploration, secret map-making (cartography!), epic classic team challenges, and super engaging Leave No Trace games. Your child will come home not just tired and happy, but full of knowledge and new outdoor skills—ready to share stories about where our modern activities came from and the life of a true explorer!

Olympics: June 15th - June 19th
Gear up for an epic week of adventure and awesome friendly competition where campers will challenge themselves across a variety of outdoor activities! Think lightning-fast biking speed races, tricky technical skills courses, super-speed climbing challenges, and knot-tying showdowns. Plus, we've got hilarious and exciting timed group challenges to boost collaboration and major team spirit!
The fun doesn't stop there! We'll get super creative designing rad team flags and crafting bling-tastic paper plate medals. Get ready for thrilling exploration and science with scavenger hunts and our important Leave No Trace (LNT) trash collection mission. We'll also cover essential, confidence-boosting skills and safety training like First Aid, Survival Skills, setting up an Outdoor Kitchen, and mastering Orienteering.
Camper accomplishments will be tracked daily, culminating in an unforgettable All-Camp Closing Ceremony where those coveted paper plate medals will be awarded for both team triumphs and individual glories! Get ready for a week packed with growth, non-stop fun, and totally memorable victories!

Adventure Architects: June 22nd - June 26th & July 27th - July 31st
Get ready for an action-packed week with our "Adventure Architects" theme! Your kids will unleash their inner engineers, dreaming up exciting new challenges across all our activities. From designing and riding their own epic bike course and mapping out a pump track, to creating and rating custom climbing routes, this week is all about imagination and implementation. They'll even get to invent a brand new camp game or build a cool structure or obstacle course to share with the whole group. The best ideas will be put into action, giving your child the chance to proudly present their creation to the entire camp!

Outdoor Story Tellers: July 6th - July 10th
Unleash your child's inner conservationist, adventurer, and hilarious nature storyteller in this wildly exciting week! "Outdoor Story Tellers" is all about blending keen nature observation with maximum creative expression. Campers will master super-fun techniques like field sketching, outdoor photography (say 'cheese,' nature!), and journaling, turning their awesome discoveries into compelling stories, wacky poetry, or amazing interpretive guides. The week culminates in a lively, show-stopping group presentation—be it a hilarious skit, a catchy song, a stunning photo essay, or a wild narrative—where they share their unique experience and totally new perspective on the natural world with their peers. Get ready to hear all about their epic, giggle-filled adventures!

Action Movie Week: July 13th - July 17th
Get ready for the most action-packed week of camp where your child becomes the star of their own adventure story! Campers will choose roles as heroes, villains, or sidekicks in a thrilling race to find a legendary treasure. Every day is filled with exciting challenges, from "boss battles" on the bike track and daring rescue missions while climbing, to mastering teamwork obstacles and creating amazing LARP gear in arts and crafts. They'll also sharpen essential outdoor skills, learning to navigate with a map, practice survival techniques, and may even use First Aid in a pretend emergency—all while ensuring they leave no trace for the "other teams" to find them. It's a fun-filled, immersive experience that builds confidence, promotes teamwork, and sparks an imaginative love for the outdoors!

Trailblazers and Explorers: July 20th - July 24th
Get ready for a week of high-energy discovery with our "Trailblazers & Explorers" theme! Your child will become a confident outdoor adventurer, blazing new trails through hiking, nature scavenger hunts, and learning essential survival and navigation skills. They'll collaborate to build a bike course, "summit" a climbing wall, and master map and compass reading. This week is all about fostering curiosity, teamwork, and a deep, respectful love for the natural world. Empower your young explorer to step outside and discover the fun!
