Does Avid4 Provide Van Transportation for Day Camps?

YES!

In 2025, transportation will be provided to and from recreation areas for all of our Day Camps in Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington*

*Excludes Valmont Bike Park and Learn to Bike camps

Van Transportation - CO, OR, WA and CA Single-Sport Camps*

  1. Avid4 Adventure uses 15-passenger vans to transport campers to and from local rec areas.
  2. All instructors who drive vans are trained and certified to drive 15-passenger vans and are at least 20 years old.
  3. CO CAMPS ONLY: Campers 8 years old and under, who weigh at least 40 lbs are required to use a booster seat during transportation.  
  4. All Other States: Campers 7 years and under or under the height of 4'9" tall are required to use a booster unless they meet the height/weight limits in your state.
  5. *Single-Sport Camps in Menlo Park, CA will utilize Van Transportation and parents are encouraged to provide boosters if your camper needs one. 

California Multi-Sport Day Camp School Bus Transportation

In 2025, California Multi-Sport Adventure and Explorer Day Camps* will use School Bus transportation to and from local rec sites.
School Buses will be used to transport camper's registered for Multi-Sport Adventure and Explorer Camps in Burlingame, Menlo Park and Oakland*. Single Sport campers will be transported in 15-passenger vans. (see above)
  1. Our vendor is Durham School Services, which has been around since 1917 and transports roughly a million students daily, including many other camps in the Bay Area.
  2. All buses are equipped with 3-point seat belts.
  3. We do NOT need boosters for campers in school buses.
  4. All drivers are fully background checked, drug & alcohol tested, thoroughly trained, and certified as school bus drivers in CA.
  5. DSS tracks the location, direction, and speed of all buses in real-time with GPS tracking.
  6. Our staff will be on the bus with our campers.

*Oakland Multi-sport Day Camps will use combination of Bus and Van Travel, PLUS utilizing on-site recreation adjacent to Chabot Space and Science Center.
