How is your staff trained?

All of our staff members attend a mandatory 14-day training session prior to the first day of camp. They are professionally trained in risk management, group management, and activity-specific skills. All staff members are required to have Wilderness First Aid, CPR, Small Craft Water Safety, and Defensive Driving certifications; with many staff having advanced certifications.

Our staff also participate in an intensive in-house training for all our core sports including mountain biking, rock climbing, backpacking, and all of our paddle-sports.  In addition, we train our staff in Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics Principles and our programs have become the gold-standard for these lessons, earning our program the first-ever designation as a Leave No Trace Accredited Youth Program.
